Jeremy Allen White just 86ed this item of clothing.
The Bear star was recently spotted out on a run in Hollywood on July 21. However, in an effort to beat the California heat he opted to forego his shirt, with his exercise ensemble consisting of a beat-up New York Mets baseball cap, black shorts and white new balances, rounding out his gear with AirPods and his phone in hand.
The 32-year-old's runner's high was likely in part fueled by the continued wave of success for The Bear. After all, in addition to an acclaimed sophomore season which debuted at the end of June, the FX on Hulu series recently nabbed a whopping thirteen Emmy nominations for its debut episodes last year.
And while the Shameless alum will have to wait until September to see whether he'll take home the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy trophy, he's already received a Golden Globe win for best actor earlier this year.
However, Jeremy has revealed that he almost didn't play Carmy, as he felt the Chicago-based character with a complicated family life was a little too close to his Shameless character Lip.
"I think I was too concerned with what other people might think," he told GQ in July 2022, before confessing it was the show's writing that eventually convinced him. "I also knew that if I said no to this, that whoever ended up doing it, I would hate them forever."
The After Everything actor also shared that while he was grateful for his time on Shameless, but that being on one show for such a long period of time took its toll.
"There was a period where I stopped feeling like an actor and I started feeling like I was just here to do this show," he continued. "It was an upsetting head space to be in. When it was going to end, I was questioning: Maybe I do just exist on this show. What else is there? Am I an actor? I was definitely having a lot of doubt when I was finishing Shameless."
But as it turns out, these feelings were just what Jeremy needed to become The Bear's leading man.
"I think that was something Carmy was really struggling with, too," he reflected. "We kind of found each other at a similar place. He knew he's really gifted at this thing, but he could be painfully insecure about his abilities as well. I was feeling a little insecure at the end, too."
But hopefully, thirteen Emmy nominations later, Jeremy is feeling a little less insecure these days. Tune into the awards ceremony on September 18 on Fox to see how many awards The Bear takes home.
