Super Bowl history was made on Sunday – and then it was made again just two quarters later.
Two quarters after San Francisco 49ers kicker Jake Moody kicked a 55-yard field goal to give him the longest made field goal in Super Bowl history, Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker topped it with a 57-yard kick.
Moody's 57-yarder were the first points of Super Bowl 58, which and topped the previous record of 54 yards, made by Buffalo Bills kicker Steve Christie in Super Bowl 28.
Butker has been outstanding since joining the team in 2017. He led the league in scoring in 2019 and has made 89% of his career field goals, which is second in NFL history to Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker.
