After Howie Mandel shared how he found his wife in a pool of blood in their hotel room after a night of partying in Las Vegas, the America's Got Talent judge clarified that Terry "wasn't drunk" during the mishap.
"She doesn't have an alcohol problem," Howie told TMZ in an interview published June 18. "I'm gonna tell you the truth: She took gummies. So, it's not an alcohol problem. She was on pot."
Noting that Terry has been "so worried" people will want to "intervene" with her alcohol intake in light of the experience, Howie further explained that he chose to share her story publicly simply because it was "really scary."
And for anyone looking to learn from the Deal or No Deal host's tale, he quipped, "I think the takeaway is marriage isn't easy."
The 68-year-old previously shared that Terry has since recovered after suffering a freak accident in their Las Vegas hotel room recently.
"We partied too much," Howie recalled on Live with Kelly and Mark June 17. "In the middle of the night, she got up and I don't know where she was headed, but she headed into the wall. She fell and hit the wainscoting."
It was pitch black in their hotel room, so as Terry went down, she apparently slipped again, injuring her eye and her cheek.
"I wake up, I turn on the light and look around the bed and she's in the corner, face down," Howie remembered. "I didn't know she cut her head, but blood is pooling. Snapped is on TV, blood is pooling out and I freaked out."
Insisting he could "actually see her skull," Howie called the front desk in a panic to ask for 911, though he admitted he was worried other people would think he had caused her injury.
"I see people taking pictures of the blood on the floor, the cans and everything," he explained before joking, "If someone would be beat up in that room, it would be me. I am the most annoying person in the world. My wife is a saint."
Thankfully, in the end, Howie was able to get Terry to the hospital, and she's since made a full recovery.
"There is not a scar," he said. "She is beautiful."
